I worked as a Product Designer in the Distribution Platforms team, where I was responsible for Marco Polo, a platform designed specifically for StoneCo's field agents operating in physical hubs across Brazil and their leaderships.

Marco Polo is a tool designed to boost the productivity of Stone's commercial sales team. Key features include:

  1. Sales Funnel Management

Track and manage each stage of the sales process.

  1. Lead Intelligence

Access rich lead databases with decision-maker information, enabling precise, AI-driven, and highly productive sales strategies.

  1. Proposal Generation & Client Setup

Provide hyperlocal pricing suggestions with bundled offerings, streamline client registration and simplify POS setup.

  1. Portfolio Management & Financial Incentives

View all client information within your portfolio and track performance-based incentives.

  1. Task & Performance Tracking:

Plan daily tasks and track individual performance over different periods.

Marco Polo is available in two versions: a responsive android app (mobile and tablet), designed for commercial agents, and a web platform for desktop, tailored for leadership and back-office teams to manage performance and optimize territory distribution.

What's crucial to understand is that Marco Polo is the backbone of Stone’s commercial operations, used daily by all sales team, including sales representatives and their leaders.

Every day in the app, agents handle tens of thousands of interactions with establishments, generate thousands proposals, and onboard a significant share of new clients, playing a critical role in StoneCo's customer acquisition.

With centralized customer data and lead intelligence, Marco Polo ensures Stone’s unmatched capillarity, making it easier to identify decision-makers and improving the productivity of the commercial team. Its technology is a key part of Stone’s success across the country.

/my design process

As a Product Designer at Marco Polo, I collaborated closely with the Product Manager and Tech Lead, leading the end-to-end design process while actively contributing to the product roadmap.

When I joined, there was no design system in place. I took the initiative to create one based on atomic design principles, providing consistent design patterns and streamlining delivery workflows. This system not only improved overall efficiency but also allowed the team to dedicate more time to tackling complex strategic discoveries.

I also created a design toolkit to refine the handoff process. The toolkit included screen flow indicators, event mapping templates for Amplitude, and detailed checklists, ensuring clear communication with developers. This reduced QA iterations and increased delivery accuracy.

My process began with idea mapping from strategic goals, user feedback, and metrics analysis. During discovery, I documented hypotheses in Confluence and applied methodologies such as user interviews, surveys, field studies, focus groups, and usability testing. Prototypes were built and validated with stakeholders and users, refining the task descriptions for Jira.

After prototyping, I componentized elements for handoff, covering all scenarios—alternate flows, errors, loading, and success states. I also tracked key metrics using dashboards in Amplitude and conducted follow-up research, including surveys and field studies, to evaluate the impact of our solutions.

This process not only optimized delivery and discovery workflows but also ensured alignment with business goals and user needs, resulting in scalable and impactful design outcomes.
